EXO: EXODUS

Hello
An nyeoung
Konnichiwa
Ni hao

So if you read my blog you will have noticed a week empty of posts, I decided after a hectic Halloween week I'd have a week free of posts and get my mind back in gear, I was going to do a bonfire night post but due to some family circumstances plans changed, so posts from the past week have been brought forward to this week. So shall we start?

So normally when I do a K-pop post if the album has a repackaged album I share it in the same post but this time as I have 4 copies of this album (yes you read right 4 copies) I thought I'd break it into two posts as you may have noticed in my past EXO posts there are two versions of their albums their Korean album with EXO-K and their Mandarin album with EXO-M.

This year (2015) saw EXO's comeback after Kris and Luhan's departures and lawsuits against SM Entertainment, lawsuits that are still on going a year later. Now promoting as ten members EXO returned with their 2nd full length album, with SM releasing 10 teasers for each member continuing the story of their powers from MAMA titled Pathcodes, the locations of the teasers also spelt out the title of the new single, check out all the teasers below and see if you can decipher the lead tracks title.

SM Entertainment also announced that this album would be released into 20 versions, yes 20, with each member getting a solo cover 10 members for the Korean version and 10 members for the Mandarin version, giving fans the choice of buying all 20 albums to with the spines of both sets connecting to make the EXO logo or buying just their favourite member versions. The reason that I have 4 versions is because when I pre-ordered the album my covers were selected at random and I didn't get my 2 *bias* members so I repurchased the albums selecting my 2 favourite members. The album along with the lead single Call Me Baby and Music Video was released March 30th/31st going down the 90's boyband look route and showing that without Kris and Luhan they stay had the power to slay around the world. By the end of promotions for Call Me Baby, EXO had won a total of 18 music show trophies breaking their own previous record for 14 trophies for Growl. Check out both the Korean and Mandarin MV's below.

According to SM Entertainment, pre orders for Exodus reached 502,440 copies (321,200 - Korean, 181,240 - Mandarin) already passing the half a million mark, Domestically, the Korean version of the album topped the Gaon Weekly Albums Chart for four consecutive weeks with the Chinese version taking the second place spot, both versions stayed in this position until the 3rd week of release. Exodus became the best-selling album in the first quarter of this year only 2 days after it's release on March 30th, I think it's safe to say this comeback and album was their most anticipated and their most successful so far. Two tracks from the album were used also in their original debut teasers with El Dorado being used for Chanyeol's teaser and Beautiful being used for a teaser with Lay, Baekhyun and Chen, check them out below.

The albums are set in the same style as Girls Generations Lion Heart/You Think albums as a hardback  book with the pictures being of which member graced the cover of the album, mixed with the track lyrics and ending with the members thank you notes. The cases depending on which version they were, were coloured differently with the Korean being gold and the Chinese silver. As I said earlier I have 4 copies 2 of which are Korean and 2 which are Mandarin: Korean I have Chen and *Chanyeol*, Chinese I have Kai and *Lay*. Back of each case also shows the phases of the moon working it's way to being a full moon. Each album also came with a photo card. Lets check them out starting with the Korean version.

When I pre ordered this album I decided I would make myself wait till the albums arrived to hear the tracks on the album along with their single Call Me Baby, the latter didn't last long soon as the MV was released I caved and watched it and caved with a few of the songs and downloaded some, on first listen only a few songs stood out to me but after a few listens each song and version stood out I won't deny that there are 3 songs on this album that I can't get enough of and all 3 are the Korean versions as I love Chanyeol's voice in them and they are: Transformer, Playboy and Lady Luck.

Do you have all 20 versions?
Do you only have your Bias versions?
